The Association of University of Wisconsin Professionals (TAUWP) is the Local 3535 union of the American Federation of Teachers and AFT-Wisconsin. TAUWP/Local 3535 members include faculty, academic staff, and graduate students at UW-Milwaukee and UW-Parkside.
Our members advocate on professional issues of importance to academic faculty, staff, and graduate students. They lobby hard to improve compensation, preserve tenure and academic freedom, and improve higher education standards across our campuses. TAUWP and AFT-WI have successfully litigated assaults on faculty and academic staff governance rights, campaigned to save our colleagues' jobs when they were subjected to unjust dismissal, and proudly cheered as the graduate worker's union at UW-Madison, Local 3220, won paid family leave for UW-System employees.
We use the collective power of our members to ensure that the Governor, the Legislature, the UW Board of Regents, and System and campus administrations hear your points of view and needs.
We are member-run and member-funded. Our strength and effectiveness is directly related to the support of faculty and academic staff like you. Join us and let's keep moving forward!
